ChatGPT Prompts for Writing Your Website Copy (Page by Page)

Get clarity before you design—one ChatGPT prompt at a time.

If you've ever opened a blank doc and thought, "What am I even supposed to say on this page?"—you’re not alone. Most website overwhelm starts with the copy.

But when you ask better questions, you get better content. And that’s where ChatGPT comes in.

    The goal of this post:

To give you high-quality, strategic prompts for each page of your website—so you can write content that actually works before you dive into design.

These prompts are aligned with the page-by-page breakdown I shared in this blog postWhat to Write on Every Page of Your Website (Before You Design). If you haven’t read that yet, start there first.

    Ready? Let’s write your website.

Before you start: a few quick tips for using ChatGPT to write website content.

    • Customize your tone: At the start of your session, tell ChatGPT about your brand.
Ex:“You are my brand copy assistant. My brand voice is confident, creative, and empowering. I’m a designer who helps creative entrepreneurs elevate their digital presence.”

    • Feed it your positioning: Give context before you ask for output.

“My ideal client is a wellness entrepreneur who needs a high-converting website that still feels elevated and aligned with their brand.”

    • Treat this like a collaborator, not a shortcut. Use the prompts to generate drafts and direction, then refine in your own voice.

These prompts aren’t just here to help you write better—they’re here to help you design a smarter website.

Once you’ve clarified your copy, customizing your website—whether you’re working with a designer or using a template—becomes infinitely easier. You know what each page needs to say, what each section is doing, and how to guide your audience through your site with intention.

Because clear message = clear direction. And that’s the foundation of a site that’s not just pretty, but powerful.

All of my Squarespace templates are built with this strategy in mind.

You won’t find generic filler copy. You’ll find intentional, section-by-section guidance that shows you exactly what to write and where to put it. Use these prompts in tandem with one of my templates, and you’ll go from blank slate to high-converting website in a fraction of the time.
